Bottle Jaw Treatment (Final Correct Plan)

Based on your medicines: Triclabendazole, Ivermectin, Closantel, Tribivet, Sharkoferrol, Lasix.

🐑 1. Deworming — Do NOT give all together

You must choose based on cause.

**👉 If you suspect Liver Fluke (wet fields, marshy grazing):

Give ONLY THIS:**

✔ Triclabendazole — 10 mg/kg (single dose)

  • Give once, orally.

  • Do NOT combine with other dewormers on the same day.

OR

✔ Closantel sodium dihydrate — 10 mg/kg

  • Also good for flukes + Haemonchus worms.

  • Give only once.

(Choose ONE of the above, not both.)

**👉 If you suspect Haemonchus worm (pale eyelids, anemia):

Give ONLY THIS:**

✔ Closantel sodium — 10 mg/kg

OR

✔ Ivermectin 1% — 1 ml per 50 kg

Do NOT give Ivermectin and Closantel together. Choose only one.

🩺 2. Improve Blood (Very Important)

✔ Vitamin B1, B6, B12 Injection (e.g., Tribivet)

  • 2–3 ml IM (depending on sheep weight)

  • Daily for 3 days

✔ Sharkoferrol / Iron–Calcium–Vitamin Supplement

  • 5–10 ml orally daily for 7 days

  • Improves anemia and protein levels.

🔵 3. For Bottle Jaw Swelling — Use Lasix safely

About Rimeda / Furosemide

  • Rimeda = Furosemide (diuretic)

  • Human "Lasix" (Furosemide) can be used for sheep in emergency.

✔ Safe Dose for Sheep (Lasix 20 mg tablet or injection)

  • 1 mg per kg body weight
    Example:

  • 20–25 kg sheep → 20–25 mg Lasix

Injection:

  • 0.25–0.5 ml IM (if 20 mg/2 ml vial)

  • Give only once daily

  • Maximum 2–3 days only.

Important Warning:

  • Give Lasix ONLY after the sheep is drinking water.

  • Do NOT give if sheep is dehydrated.

  • Do NOT give Lasix on empty stomach.

🍀 4. Nutrition Support (Required)

Give for 2 weeks:

  • Green fodder: Desmanthus / Juar / Lucerne

  • Concentrate: 200–300 g

  • Mineral mixture: 10–15 g

  • Salt block: daily

  • Jaggery + ORS water: once daily

Protein improves blood protein (albumin) → reduces bottle jaw.

🚫 5. What NOT to do

❌ Don’t give multiple dewormers on the same day.
❌ Don’t mix Ivermectin + Closantel + Triclabendazole.
❌ Don’t give Lasix without proper deworming.
❌ Don’t give too much Lasix — causes dehydration.
